From the asset menu you can select the "Delete" option.

You can also select multiple assets and fodlers in a vault by clicking their icons. You can hold shift and select a group of assets at a time. Use the delete icon in the bar above your list of assets to delete a batch in one go.

Once deleted, your assets will go to the Trash and remain there until you permanently delete them.
